"I am deeply saddened by the passing of my friend Rep. Mark Takai. It has been an honor to work with him, as a fellow Nikkei. He came to Washington with great excitement and expectations which motivated his desire to dedicate himself to meaningful service as he had in the Hawai’i State House of Representatives and the National Guard.
