REP. HONDA LAUDS CBS FOR DROPPING DJs JV AND ELVIS AND PRODUCER

Washington, DC – The Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) applauds a decision made by CBS to cancel New York-area morning show "The Dog House with JV & Elvis," on which hosts JV and Elvis (Jeff Vandergrift and Dan Lay) made an obscene anti-Asian prank call to a Chinese restaurant. CBS Radio announced that DJs JV and Elvis along with their producer would no longer be working for CBS Radio or its affiliates, including WFNY 92.3 FM.

"I applaud CBS, CBS Radio, and WFNY for taking responsibility for the racist segment that aired on WFNY 92.3 FM. I congratulate CBS for living up to its own commitment to promoting diversity, not only within the company, but throughout the entire entertainment industry," said Rep. Mike Honda (CA-15), Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. "I look forward to CBS’s continued leadership on this front. I also encourage CBS to continue this dialogue with the Asian American and Pacific Islander community."
