“This is a welcome stroke of near-sanity, and dangerously close to good governance.  Republicans have realized that taking the debt ceiling hostage is horrible for the economy, and really bad politics.  But a 3 month fix isn’t good enough.  This will just prolong the uncertainty that American consumers and businesses will be facing this year.  It’s time we reform the debt ceiling for good, in the way that Mitch McConnell has suggested, by allowing Treasury to do the right thing and pay the federal government’s bills.”
